My 2007 EX replaced a 1999 Tacoma TRD 4x4 with 120k miles. That was a great truck but I just needed to upgrade to an SUV with enclosed cargo area and lots of potential passenger room. Plus it's one of the most reliable vehicles per Consumer Reports. I love it!

Had 1990 Accord; Kept it but then bought 2001 Accord;

Traded 2001 Accord (big mistake to get rid of it!) for 2004 Toyota Camry (hated it!);

Traded Camry for 2005 Pilot . Hope to never trade again ..... luv, luv, luv my Pilot but still wish I had kept my '01 Accord too!

Had a 2004 Honda Elelement that i loved and i got rear ended a few weeks ago. My Mom has a pilot that has 111k on it and still runs like new, so i coughed up the extra dough and bought a 2k6 pilot with almost 60k miles on it. Bought it on the 31st of jan at a dealer, low balled him an OTD price and have since put almost a thousand miles on it. Silly thing gets almost the same freeway mileage that the element did.

Replaced a 2009 Tribute. Honestly can not say anything positive about that SUV, other than it got pretty good MPG. Glad to be in a Honda

Replaced the wife's 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. No complaints with the Santa Fe, it was a good vehicle, good price, and great warranty. Wife just wanted something different this time. We drove all the 2011 SUV's and she liked the Pilot the best. Put it off a while, then drove the 2012's. Thought she was gonna like the 4runner, then drove the 2012 Pilot and it was still her favorite. Sold the Santa Fe on Craigslist for $1400 more than trade in offer, and the Pilot shopping began.

We replaced a well-travelled (and well-loved) 2001 Odyssey. This is our 5th Honda (we have an Accord), and no joke, there are FOURTEEN Honda or Acuras (including 4 pilots and 2 MDXs) within a 1 block radius of our house. Crazy!

1. It's a Honda (though we looked at Toyota as well)
2. AWD. Must have, as we have a lot of early hockey mornings - and we need to get up hills in Winter. I'm tired of spinning to get going sometimes.
3. Size. We thought we were going to buy a Highlander, but it was too small. We need a family truckster.

I got my '04 Pilot in '05 to replace my '96 Accord coupe that was totaled by an 18-wheeler. It had around 110,000 miles, fully loaded, & no problems. I liked the Pilots when they came out & after the wreck was too scared to get back in a small car, so just wanted something bigger & safer & definitely had to stick w/ Honda. Still miss my Accord though, will probably get another one, but a sedan the next time around. Plan on keeping the Pilot forever.
