Default What color is Sagebrush Pearl?

I saw a dealer's Sagebrush Pearl Pilot the other day and thought it was a pretty cool color (hope my wife agrees). So I asked the dealer what color it was, and he said, "Sagebrush Green." I've also seen several people here say that there is some green in this color. I stared and squinted at the dealer's Pilot for several minutes until I thought I might have seen a couple of photons bouncing off the the hood with a slight greenish shift (if a red shift means the universe is expanding, does a green shift mean we're imploding?).

Anyway, is there really any green in Sagebrush Pearl? And what color is it really. I've also heard that the color shifts depending on the light. Are there a variety of metalflake colors in there?

Thanks, Robrecht

the best I can describe it, I guess, is the base color is a grey/green. Mostly grey, but under some lights it has a greenish hue. In sunlight, the grey is prominent, and the 'pearl' is a metallic flake of pinks and blues, predominantly.

However, it almost never looks like a 'sagebrush'. It was a damp foggy night in a parking lot under florescent or sodium vapor lights that it had a softer greenish sagebrush appearance.

it is one chameleon color though thats for sure.

I have it, love it, and it sort of defies description. I would say it leans towards green, but the light plays a real role. Mostly I get comments like "what a great color."

In a rainy fog it looks like you'd think Sagebrush should look....kind of a flat greeny color. Othertimes very cool charcol, or even blue. Love it and everyone tells me it is the best color for Pilots that they have seen

I've been waiting patiently for the past week for my Sagebrush Pilot to come in. My dealer refers to it as "graphite".... Can't wait to see what color it looks when sitting in my driveway!

Only the best color out there - but then again I'm biased...

After seeing an Accord in the showroom in Sage Brush Pearl, I was hooked!!!
Now, if it would only arrive from Alabama?

Was this a special edition or something? According to the Honda website, Sagebrush isn't an option for the Accord. Deep Pearl Green or Graphite would be the closest.

It was the Accord Coupe. The dealer pointed to it and said "it looks like that", but when I checked http://www.hondacars.com/models/exte...e=Accord+Coupe , the color is called Deep Green Pearl. Hmmm, after looking at the Pilot color chart, I see that there is a difference.
Thanks for pointing that out. Actually, they are both great colors. (Maybe we'll go back this summer and get that Accord) :O)

This past weekend I clayed and waxed my SBP Pilot after owning it around 3 months.

It looks fantastical.

My friends are showing ugly signs of shine-envy.

Best I can describe it is it looks exactly like my 95 Chevy Impala SS did, GM called it Dark Green-Grey Metallic. DGGM. I had no clue what it was and put it as #3 in my color list but I happened by a local Honda dealer 2 nights ago to test drive a pilot and they had a Sagebrush pearl EX-L. It was gorgeous. Its now my #1 color choice.

From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Main Entry: 3sage

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French sauge, from Latin salvia, from salvus healthy; from its use as a medicinal herb

Date: 14th century
1 : a mint (Salvia officinalis) with grayish green aromatic leaves used especially in flavoring meats

=====

Sounds good enough for me!!!

This is now the official color name as listed in the 2004 Official Guidelines of Artistic Color and Hue published by the Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art.
