Am I nuts for even thinking this? We are about to begin shopping for a different SUV for my wife, our 2010 Tahoe LTZ has been perfect but the 14mpg is getting old, often it's 12.5-13.9mpg due to around town driving. Anyway, we are going to look at the Audi Q5 (probably too small) and also the Lexus 450h (probably too small as well) and also the Touareg TDI. She already said she is not into the VW but we will see.
So I start thinking, if she doesn't go for the diesel Touareg maybe I should sell my Pilot? Absolutely nothing wrong with my Pilot at all but I love change and getting a new or different car. Am I nuts for even thinking of this? My Pilot Touring has about 5600 miles on it! |

The Toureg is nice but one thing to consider is the costly depreciation loss on your Pilot being so new.

What about the Pilot has you contemplating getting rid of it? What specifically attracts you to the Audi, Lexus, and VW? Have you looked at the Traverse / Acadia or the Mazda CX-9 or the Acura MDX? What kinds of features are you looking for?

Already "bored" with the Pilot after only 5600 miles and willing to trade it just to get something different. Man, I wish I had money to waste like that. I think you're nuts, but it's your money. Do what you think will make you two happy.

traded our 2012 Pilot early this week (14500mi, 1.5yo), actually made $500 and change to go towards the inception fees for the replacement vehicle's lease.Back story: To make a long story short, life's circumstances basically got in the way and caused my wife to end up with the Pilot (w/c she loves BTW). She's a new driver you see and the size of the Pilot gave her a hard time maneuvering to park and navigate through narrow spaces in general. She requested if we could downsize to a compact SUV w/c can carry the family and luggage to road trips in relative comfort while small enough so she could navigate it with ease. The Pilot held it's value well that I had no problem getting dealers match or exceed the pay-off amount, ended up saving $100 monthly from the lower monthly lease note and insurance savings. My wife couldn't be happier with her new CRV EX-L in red pearl. ![]() In the end it's all up to you. Trading early isn't always a lose-lose situation, happy wife, happy life |

That's why you buy Honda. Even with their imperfections, dealers/private sellers love buying and selling Hondas because they retain value. Well done, CRV is a safe choice and well executed mini-ute.
