Default Which is a better EX-L deal (2010 vs 2012)?

Looking at two Honda Certified EX-Ls -

2010 had 2 previous owners, 55K miles, looks in really good shape: $25,000

2012 had 1 owner, 25K miles, looks great: $30,000.

The prices are at the lower and upper limits of my budget. Is it worth the price/mileage differential to get the 2012? I usually get cars used - 3 years old, with @ 50k miles, and plan to own for 7-8 years...but trying to decide whether it's worth the extra 5k to splurge for newer.

Thanks!

A 2010 having 2 previous owners makes me suspicious it might be a lemon.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll inquire further - but would Honda certify a lemon?

If it is certified then you should be good. But I would buy a pre 2012 if it was me .

A number of pilot owners on this forum report VCM issues and shuddering with 2012+ models.

2012 EX - Just got my 1st oil change at 10K miles. Nothing but smiles.

Yes you can hear when the AC compressor kicks in - just like my Acura TL. Cools just as well too.

Yes you can tell when the VCM cuts in. I can also see the extra MPG it provides. We average 22MPG combined City/Highway. Consistently.

Build quality seems very high. This truck was $10K cheaper than anything in it's class.

I can carry 4X8 sheets of sheetrock laying flat (and they only stick out a little).
