Forced induction means forcing more air into your engine for more power usually by means of a turbo or supercharger. CAI= cold air intake.

Just remember the more air you try to force into the motor the more the computer is going to fight you. More air means more fuel so everything is just going to wash out. Once it's all said and done all your going to achieve is about 10mpg

And the Pilot already has a CAI drawing air from the wheelarch. So don't waste you money there.

All the Honda pilot 2009 and up came with the factory installed cold air intake. Don't waste your money on the after market intake.

You might even break it or check engine light on your car after you install it.

The cold air portion of a CAI is only part of the appeal, the other part is reduced airflow restriction. The intake tubing on my 2012 Pilot is anything but free-flowing.

The intake goes from above the radiator, through some tubing to a baffle down by the wheel arch, does a 180 and comes back up to the air filter box, then into the engine. This is actually pretty restrictive. Doing a CAI to reduce airflow restriction may help throttle response and power slightly, but it's doubtful that it will be noticeable on a vehicle this heavy with an engine that makes relatively low power.

Add to that that most CAIs actually draw warm air from the engine bay and aren't true cold air intakes, so improvements with those systems won't be as much as a true CAI with reduced airflow restriction.

For all those looking for a "free-er flowing intake, you do realize that except under full throttle, the greatest restriction is from the throttle plate doing its job, and even under full throttle, it is fairly rare that the intake plumbing has significant effect.

Its just not a race car that runs at WOT and high RPM down the back stretch!
