Default Any Pilot owners used to own an Odyssey?

Just wondering how you felt about a "shorter" car? What did you like and don't like in terms of switching from a minivan to a SUV?

Had an 09 Ody. We miss the space, highway MPG and sliding doors.

We like the Pilots shorter wheelbase for parking structures and parking in the gargage, 4WD, and #1 for us was towing capacity...all while not drastically changing what we had in the Ody. (City MPG for example, is 100% the same for us)

We had two Odysseys before the Pilot. I liked all the extra space and the sliding doors of the Odysseys but with only one kid we didn't really need all the space and my wife said she was over mini vans. The Pilot has been great but we are now thinking about trading it for an MDX.

We bought our 04 Pilot brand new (for me) and then we got an 08 Ody (for my wife) also brand new.

I love my Pilot, best vehicle I ever owned in 23 years of driving. Since its my wife's vehicle, I only drive the Ody on weekends when we take the kids anywhere. I'd prefer to be the passenger but my wife refuses to drive so I have no choice.

I have to say I prefer driving my Pilot MUCH better than the Ody. When driving the Ody I feel like I'm driving a bus. Althought the Ody is much more comfortable with the soft leather seats, I'm not really into that because one shouldn't feel too relaxed when driving.

My Pilot is currently on life support (see thread about cracked seat frame) pending the adjustor's assessment on a rear-ending yesterday.

Please send your thoughts and prayers to my Pilot. It must live to see another day.

had an oddy for 3 years and just switched to a Pilot. Definitely miss the sliding doors and the extra room. With the 3 rows up in the Pilot there is very little cargo space. The odyssey had plenty of room in the trunk. The Pilot is much nicer to drive and look at though!

I wish the Pilot had the Ody/Ridgeline length. My teenagers are all over 6ft!

Currently have both 01 Odyssey EX & 08 Pilot. For road trips prefer the Ody not just for space but center row captains chairs keep my 2 girls from fighting over space on bench seat. In Pilot must fold down the 3d row seat to have enough room for gear.
Pilot however has a smooth solid feel to drive but not as practical. My wife wanted and loves the Pilot so it is here to stay.

I have the 2012 EX 4WD, and our second car is a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. The Caravan has the advantage of enormous amounts of space and bucket seats in the first two rows. Keeps the peace between children better.

Had an '06 EX-L and an '07 Ody EX-L R&N prior to my current Pilot. I miss the big 16 cup holders, deep door pockets and roomy cargo space that the Ody had. I will admit the Pilot is a lot more cramp, but I like the shorter wheelbase and standard towing.

I had repetitive power steering pump issues on that van. Dealer replaced at least 4 or 5 times during the warranty. I did not regret replacing it with my Pilot

I currently have both. Odyssey definately wins in cargo capacity and passenger comfort, especially with passengers in the third row. For our family of 4, we use the Pilot for in town and shorter trips, and we use the Ody for long distance trips or if we have additional passengers.

We sold our 2003 Odyssey EXL w/DVD. We liked the space but wanted to go back to an SUV with 2 kids being older (11 & 14) now.

We have a 2011 pilot EXL and a 2007 ODY EXL Navi RES. Can't make up my mind love them both. The ODY is faster and gets better MPG. We take our ODY on long road trips due to extra room and built in DVD. When its raining nothing rides better than the pilot it's solid and feels great in bad weather.
