Default 2005 Pilot - I am going to change the timing belt at 97,000 miles rather than 105,000

6 years old as of last week. I told myself that I would wait until 105,000 miles but now since I drive it 100 miles RT on the weekend, I am leaning to changing it at a reputable mechanic. No great deals on the price but cheaper than the dealer.

Might as well change the plugs while you're at it too.

And the tensioner for the timing belt. Mine was leaking a little at the timing belt was changed. It was about a $70 part.

Get the Gates brand timing kit from Rockauto.com. For my 04 it was like $160 shipped with -5% off coupon I found on Google. Everything in the kit is OEM Honda except for the water pump (which is still excellent quality). Kit includes the following:

- Gates timing belt (Gates/Unitta make the Honda belts)
- Koyo tensioner bearing (same as Honda)
- Koyo idler bearing (same as Honda)
- Aisin Hydrauilc Tensioner (same as Honda)
- Gates Water pump (Honda uses a few different brands)

Then just pay someone to install it.
