I think toyota is #1. Toyota have 107 billion in market cap. Honda is about 58 billion..

Toyota sold 1.6 millions cars in 2011. Honda 1.14 millions in 2011, down 7% from 2010.

Honda need to make better car with more HP and torque. Nobody want to pay over $40,000 for the acura tl.

Acura brand is not doing well. so if Honda sell 300hp car with the price between 27k-30k, they will be #1.

How many $27K-30K vehicles have at least 300hp?

Camaro, Challenger and Mustang, plus some pick-up trucks. What else?

Isn't a 271hp V6 Accord for $26K-28K close enough, already?

While horsepower is nice, I'd like to have more torque. Especially at the low end. Torque gets you going, hp just keeps you moving.

FYI: Having more recalls doesn't mean your car is worse than one that has less. Case and point: Chrysler/GM. If you don't die in their cars from a problem, good luck issuing a recall.

The 2 top most reliable car manufacturers on Earth are also those on the top of the list of most recalls. That's not a coincidence. That's them actually issuing fixes, as apposed to letting things get fixed as the new model years come out...again, Chrysler andGM comes to mind.

Acura is doing just fine for the segment they compete in, and considering that it is normal for sales to drop when you haven't rolled into a new model year yet, while your competitors have. Also, Acura sold 123k cars in 2011, better than Audi, which is said to have a good selling year. Acura is only down 8% the whole year, but considering their old continued models, you can't point the finger at them. People who know a quality, reliable car don't go reading sales numbers when judging what car they will buy. In terms of sales, Lexus is doing worse than Acura, and they have the WHOLE range of cars to compete against. So, having horsepower isn't what people look for, and shouldn't be associated to increasing car sales. Plus, manufacturing facilities in Japan have been getting hammered by mother nature.

Can't wait till I go to the NAIAS this saturday!!!!

It's interesting to look at the Odyforum. It's very clear that transmissions and build quality remain huge problems.

It's even hitting the media fan again.

Major bummer. I wonder why Honda can't build a great automatic transmission. They are indeed quite complicated, but have been around for ages. What is left to go wrong? Or is this just cost cutting?
