Hey Guys and Gals,
I just traded my 2008 Mercedes C300 on a pre-owned 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L with 14,870 miles on it. I needed a vehicle to haul my photography gear and the Benz wasn't doing it for me. It was paid off, so the dealer gave me $21K for my car, I paid $27,679 for the Pilot (in PERFECT condition), financed the difference of around $8,379 for 66 months...so my payment is $140/mo. If I keep the car for the whole 5 1/2 years I will pay only $829 in interest...not bad huh? ![]() Anyway, I have visited and contributed to the FX35 forums when I had it, the MB forums for the C300, and the Toyota Sienna forums...so I know how to behave. ![]() Looking forward to the great advice of knowledgeable posters here and sharing information that I uncover as well. I want to add a subwoofer and amp, but this "active noise cancellation" has me confused...so I will have to do my homework here. (Any advice is appreciated though) I added a Bazooka Tube (powered) to my FX35, and the Benz had an amp and 10" boxed woofer in it. Glad to be here alongside my new Honda brethren. I bought a Honda Accord LX in 1992 new and kept it for 8 years with no issues. This was the FX: http://www.hazemonster.com/whip and here was the Benz: http://www.hazemonster.com/benz Hazemonster Last edited by Hazemonster; 11-13-2011 at 11:40 AM. |

Welcome. I have to ask though, why are you financing for such a long time on such a small loan? You obviously can afford to pay more if you are going from a C300 to a relatively new Pilot. The interest is 10% of the loan...that is steep when you look at it that way. Just wondering, maybe I'm missing something. Either way I hope you enjoy it!

Good Question.
I can pre-pay at any time without penalty, but I chose to stretch it out to make the payments affordable. My photography business is just starting to take off, so I didn't want to be burdened with a bigger payment if I don't have to. I can swing $140/mo all day long....for now.

That's true...better to have a low min payment if things are tight, after just recently becoming a father I completely understand!
