Default 2012 xm radio question

Looking over the 2012 radio options and noticed in the spec sheets that XM radio is not mentioned till you get to at least the EX-L. Can anyone confirm that the radio in the EX does not have a satellite option? I want built-in satellite radio but not moonroof, etc. Hope I can get it. Thanks.

Anyone? How about the 2011 EX? Did it have built-in XM?

Don't know about the EX, but just bought a EX-L with RES and I have XM. Best way to find out is get on the honda website and do a side by side compare of them.

Yep..Looks like XM is not in the EX for 2012. Don't want to have to go for the EX-L just for XM. Don't want the moonroof, etc. Is it possible to do a radio switchout at the dealer?

John I would say no because the radio is intergrated with the front screen with the EX-L model. Along with the rear camera, the radio information can be displayed on the screen. The thing I would do for if you want XM is to get a XM system that can be equiped on a motorcycle. So a mobile unit. I have installed one for a friend on his motorcycle and when the snow hits he takes the unit and puts it in his car.

I've gotten siriusxm radios in the last couple of years for free from them by calling about subscriptions. I don't know if that's what you're exactly looking for. My new touring obviously comes with it, so I gave the old one to my mother-in-law. Just so you know, the free radios are decent, they aren't the expensive ones, but if you want to listen to xm and just pay for the subscription, they can't be beat!! I don't know if they still do this, but I've had satellite since the beginning, had four radios and I only paid for the first one.

I did extensive research on adding a "same as factory kit" to my 2011 F-150.
(I had a 2006 and a 2010 Pilots before the F-150, and I enjoy this site)
Ford has a kit available for Fords that costs $450 plus installation of $150.
I imagine Honda has something similar.

Now the good part: XMFanStore.com - Authorized XM Satellite Radio Dealer - Toll-Free 877-4-XMRADIO They have various options for adding XM or Sirius. I got a complete kit for $225, and paid $70 for professional installation. It is controlled by the factory radio controls and is completely hidden in the dash.

There are lots of other options for external units that look like a radar detector, but I wanted the factory look option and I am very satisfied.

Another option is to not even use a receiver. An online subscription and the iphone SiriusXM app allows you to stream SiriusXM through your iphone in any vehicle. It even works in areas that you would not receive a satellite signal (inside parking garages/etc).
