I'm in Oklahoma. I have 4 cars, a house and a condo with State Farm . I have been with them for several years and it keeps going up with no claims.

Call an independent agency that writes for several carriers and get quotes.

Insurance always goes up every year although it shouldn't be too significant

Just remember. Insurance is expensive, until you have an accident.

We're in Ohio and we left State Farm years ago for that same reason. They tried harder trying to win us back after we left them, than they tried to keep us a customer when we had them. Now we have insurance through Costco and it's been the best thing yet(from other insurances that we've had).

First off, call them and complain. I call my own insurance company every year with a couple of new quotes from other companies and wowzer, they always seem to be able to match with new discounts, etc.

im having a big issue with farmers currently. my wife swerved to avoid a deer on july 25th, i filed the claim the same day and as of today (5 weeks later) i still dont have my pilot back. their claims department (HelpPoint) screwed things up from the beginning. took 5 days to get someone out to look at the car, then the person they sent was a storm damage adjuster, not an auto adjuster. it took her a week and a half to just get the inital estimate prepared and another week to get that info to the body shop just to get parts ordered. they knew all along that there was going to be a 2nd estimate due to damage underneath the vehicle and it took a different adjuster a week from the time that the body shop called them to get someone to look at it. now the body shop is telling me that farmers is rushing him and trying to cut corners to get the car done because they are over the top on my rental car. the body shop argued with the 2nd adjuster about some of the things he wanted the body shop guy to do so hence a 3rd estimate.

USAA, if you're eligible for insurance through them, offer an excellent set of insurance products, though not especially cheap. One of the few insurance companies I don't fundamentally distrust (much, anyway.)

Been with them for ~11 years now, since I moved to the States. Never done me wrong.

A buddy of mine owns a State Farm agency, and at one point I though I'd ask him to quote me on some insurance. He asked me who I was insured through currently and when I told him it was USAA he told me to stick with them, that he could provide me with slightly cheaper insurance but not better. i always thought that was telling.

Try AMICA, been with them for 16 years, always had good service and rates from them.

If you have never heard of them, do a consumer reports search and see who is sitting on or very near the top spot.

USAA does so much RIGHT. Unfortunately, I am not among the fortunate. I have to hear my brother in law talking about it and it smarts. Great products, better service.

A couple of years ago I spent some serious time shopping and AMICA gets great ratings all over the internet and in more established sources. However, they couldn't even get close to matching my budget provider. (Probably because they pay claims, lol, but I'll take my chances to save the bucks).

I am paying $386 for 6 months with allstate for 2010 Pilot AWD. Also 2008 4runner V6 AWD, paying $416. 2009 Toyota Matrix AWD $613.

Toyota Matrix cost more to insured. I don't know why.

Pilot/4runner/Matrix. All have same coverage.

bodily injury limits $15k, $30k, $25k
property damage $25k
Auto Medical Payments $2000
Auto Collision Insurance: actual cash value
auto comprehensive insurance : actual cash value

Oooh, those limits would be a bit low for my comfort.
I carry 100K/300K for bodily and $100K for property, plus 100,000/300,000 for uninsured/underinsured, but even that is arguably a little low if you own a house or any other meaningful assets (which, come to think of it, I really don't ).

I agree that $100/300K is the minimum coverage. One serious accident would blow thru 15/30 and you could be on the hook. If one has significant assets, the 100/300 could be supplemented with an umbrella policy that could take limits up to the level you need. The nice thing about an umbrella policy is that it sits over all of your policies and is usually cheaper per given limit than upping the limits on your auto or homeowners.
