Hi there. My first post. I don't own a Pilot yet, but am very close to buying the 2011 Touring model. Though, now I am worried that both it an my other car (Honda Odyssey) are not going to fit in my garage. I need some thoughts and help!
The opening of the garage (from the edge of the weather strip to the edge of the weather strip) is 186" (15' 6"). The '08 Odyssey is 77.1" wide (~86" with mirrors). Will park on left. The '11 Pilot is 78.5" wide (~87.5 with mirrors). Will park on right. The garage has enough opening on the left to open the doors easily. I can park the Pilot as far to the right as possible. We can exit via the drivers side. My wife will never be the type to folder her mirrors in, so I have to assume the Odyssey is 86" wide with mirrors open. That leaves 100" to park the Pilot. Assuming I fold the Pilot mirrors in everytime and park as far to the right as possible, that leaves 12.5" between the mirror of the Odyssey and the Pilot. And 21.5" between the Pilot door and the Odyssey door. So, will that combination of space be enough for me to get into and out of the Pilot. Yes, it will be a tight fit. I'm not a small guy. 6'1, 220 lbs. I'm just not sure how much space you need between vehicles to make it. Seems like it will work, but was curious what you though. |

LOL at this conversation having been told a few days ago that a friend bought a top of the line Sequoia rather than the lower level trim because the top of the line has electric folding mirrors....which helps him get it in the garage.

All you need to do is tell the dealership you need to make sure it fits in your garage before you will buy. I have done this with our last four large vehicles. In this economy, most dealers will accommodate you.
