Hi Guys, i recently got a 2006 lx - don't find the seats comfortable. I tried the seats in the newer style and they feel much better. Does anyone know if the newer seats will fit ?

Many years ago I drove a succession of Renault 5s (Le Cars in this country) which all had typical lowest bidder French sub-compact budget car seats, which my 250lb ex-rugby player arse would consistently destroy in less than 10,000 miles. The ultimate solution to that problem was to have a friend weld me up a mild steel adapter plate which bolted onto the Renault factory seat mounting holes, and onto which was bolted a (very durable) 1980s Toyota Corolla seat that we dug out of a scrapyard. Worked like a charm and I moved it from car to car as the cars themselves wore out. I'm sure something like that would technically be possible as well. However, there was nothing electrical in those Renault seats. Your Pilot seats on the other hand have one or more of the following; airbags, seat heaters, occupant position detectors, weighing scales (yes really, in the passenger seat,) seatbelt latch switches and of course electrically operated position adjustments. So the biggest question is really, how electrically compatible will a seat from a newer Pilot be? I suspect they're pretty similar in absolute terms but I bet the subtle differences in connectors and things would make the task a total nightmare unless you're very mechanically and electronically inclined, and are prepared to invest a bunch of time in the job. Honestly though, I think your first (and hopefully final) stop should be at a good car upholstery shop, you'd be amazed at how they can modify the feel of a seat if you can adequately describe to them how you want it. I'm also pretty pretty sure that'll be by far your cheapest option as well, even if you can source a seat of the right colour out of a scrapped 2009-2011 Pilot.

Hi Sir, thanks for the detailed response. I honestly forgot about this post until recently. I haven't solved my issue yet but I think I'm going to go the route of putting more padding in the seats. Been sitting on 1 inch of dense foam and it helps my legs. So that is a good sugestion.
