Default Our Pilot was bumped-what to check?

Today the left front corner of the Pilot was bumped by an elderly lady making a VERY wide right turn at an intersection. It was parked along the curb and was first in the line of parked vehicles. She swung wide and hit from the license plate over to the drivers side corner. The only damage that I see is the plate is wrinkled a little and the bumper cover is cut right at where the reinforcing tube ends. My concern is other damage that is unseen. What about transmission damage. It was hit hard enough that it knocked everything setting on the console (tucked under the dash) back to the rear. The car was still rocking when my wife came out of her office after she saw and heard it.

I wouldn't worry so much about the tranny if it wasn't running.

BUT you said bumper is torn? I would check to see if there are any misalignments or suspension damage. See if the rad support is pushed back or anything for that matter.

Behind the bumper cover is an absorber etc.

Since the cover is torn, it needs to be replaced. They'll replace anything under it that needs replacing. Paint the new cover, and reinstall.

Leave it to the insurers. Its not a big deal.

definitely you should have both heads checked if you feel that type of hit may have also caused some tranny damage.

A hit like that could have caused all kinds of unanticipated and hidden damage, however unlikely that may be. Certainly, anything under that bumper cover needs to be examined for damage, as well as any electrical components, a/c components, airbag sensors, cooling components, battery, radiator support, etc. in the nearby areas.
