Default 08 Pilot tranny drainage bolt?

where's the tranny fluid drainage bolt on the 2008 Pilot? It's not the same as the 2006. I've seen the DIY 2006 photos a million times. thanks

IIRC the trannys for the 2006-2008 never changed. Are you sure you looked hard enough for it???

the bolt closest to the front (radiator end and not the firewall) on the tranny pan is a visible through bolt, not a drainage bolt. The thread end of the bolt is visible

A search would pull up an old thread asking this very question:

2008 Pilot, Where is the transmission fluid drain bolt?

Isn't there blue paint on it, too? I had no trouble finding it on my '07.

I also used the dipstick tube (rather than the fill bolt) to refill after the drain.

I just did my 2008 yesterday. The fill bolt is on top under the brake fluid and it's easier than the dipstick in my opinion. The drain bolt uses the square head of the ratchet to open it.

Thank you so much OhioBobcat20000. I took a picture of the many bolts but can't dowload it. The "square head" bolt is the third bolt counting from the front and is round so you can't use a wrench. My Camry also had this arrangement

I understand you and others are only trying to be helpful BUT this DIY url Easy DIY ATF Fluid Change PICs IS NOT APPLICABLE to a 2008 tranny. The drainanage bolt requires a square drive to open and it's the third bolt. The description from OhioBobcat2000 is correct for the 2008 tranny.

It is the same, the tip of the 3/8" square drive is all you need to remove the drain bolt. This is depicted in the DIY instructions as shown by the blue line in the picture. Where the milk jug is collecting the fluid. Take a close look at the tool being used in OP post to start the DIY.
The fill bolt on some vehicles is marked boldly with an ATF stamp and is located directly below the brake fluid reservoir.

It is the one as pictured. The person marked it with a blue marker line. Perhaps yours is painted blue as well but on my car the paint was very faded off. I believe it is the only bolt on that side (closest to the front driver's side wheel) with a crush washer and a 3/8" square head.

The drainage bolt on my tranny is unpainted. The clue always was the insertion of the 3/8" drive into the bolt head. Thanks all for your patience and input.
