Default dump or keep it

I have an 06 pilot ex-l with 70k miles

potential trade for an 05 tundra - limited with 14,500 miles on it...that's it.

It is a limited with leather everything, nav, entertainment, 4x4, bedliner, loaded with just about every option.....

also comes with a lifetime power train warranty - lifetime just have to get oil changes there.

and certified for another 2 years (bumper to bumper warranty)

concern is that it is 6 years old and mpg is potentially really bad. Other issue is that the pilot has 6 payments left and the tundra would have 2-3 years

Tundras get 12-15mpg in daily usage according to a buddy. Thats worse than a Pilot.

"Lifetime" warranties sound good, until you actually read the warranty and discover its not that good after all. Its good until they go out of business

Now whats your question?

What kind of a trade is that? you will be car payment free in 6 months vs 36 (3 years).
But it's entirely up to you, especially with gas prices creeping up even more, unless you absolutely need a truck then pass.

they were charging 20 for the truck and giving me 13 for my pilot which I owe 3500 on ...

so financing 10,500

guess since I had a tundra before and loved everything but the mpg...i was reminiscing a bit. The tundra has dvd, nav, heated leather, sunroof, bedliner, running boards....and only 14K miles...

but in thinking about it more, realize I could probably throw on some quieter tires, coat of wax and be good with the pilot....which I do like!!

still 50/50 now but thanks for the advice

Pay off the pilot and throw some money into the pilot to upgrade some select items (ex: dvd/nav).

Nothing like being debt free. $3500 for the pilot, $1000 for tires, dvd, stereo upgrade, its a keeper.
