Default DVD Nav update disc

I recently purchased a used 04 pilot exl with nav. I wanted to update the maps considering the street I live on did not even exist then and does not show up on the map. I noticed the new update was $185.00. Does this just update the streets? Does it give me a different nav view or storage options etc? If not $185 seems a little steep just for added streets.

Yes, it just updates the streets (maps) including POIs. And yes it is a little steep for a map update, when you can buy a new Garmin GPS with a current map for less than the Honda update.

I agree. $185 is too much..but they had it on sale for $99 a couple of months ago, which made it a little easier to justify. Try looking in the classifieds on here or on ebay for a disc that's one or two years old to save money. Remember to buy the same color disc.

Whether updates are worth it depend much on the area where you live.

If you are in an old established city, road layouts don't change much. However if you are in an area with street layout changes, new areas etc, then upgrade if they vendor can show you if the changes are in the update.
