Question VTM-4 Lock

I understand how it works, etc. but I'm curious on one thing. If I'm stuck and select gear 2 and select the VTM-4 lock...once I get going can I select D or must I stop and then make the D selection? My current SUV allows for shifting on the fly. Does the VTM-4 Lock allow that?

Not sure what model year you have but in the 2009 and up models the VTM lock automatically shuts down when vehicle hits 18MPH, shifting between forward gears or gear selection does not make any difference.

2011 Touring. So once I'm unstuck I can just upshift to D and life continues on?
