We have updated results for the Pilot to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010.
Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2010: 36 2009: 38 2008: 33 2007: 14 2006: 30 2005: 9 2004: 24 2003: 71 The 2003 and 2009 are about average, the other years are better than average. Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide. Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.
Also, updated reliability stats this month. As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone. Car reliability research

Seems like the numbers are moving a lot, implying inaccuracy due to a too small sample.

Perhaps the former? The sample sizes aren't large, so I do consider a change of up to 10 points to be normal. While this might seem like a large percentage change when the stats are low (i.e. the car is reliable), one extra repair for every ten cars per year isn't meaningful. If the results were jumping from "better than average" to average or worse, and vice-versa, then I'd be concerned. But this isn't happening.
