Default 2011 Pilot Programming FOB Problem

I purchased a keyless entry remote FOB for my 2011 Pilot EX-L off of eBay and it looked just like my originals. However, once I programmed the remote (online instructions) and had the key cut at my local Honda dealership,
it starts for about two seconds and the car dies. The locks work fine; it just won't start. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Worst case.... I can go back to the dealer and pay through the nose for them to reprogram it.

Here are the instructions I used:

1)
Enter the vehicle with the hood, rear hatch, and all doors closed. Have the ignition key and all remotes to be programmed available before entering the vehicle.

2)
Insert the key into the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. Within five seconds, press and hold the "lock" button on the remote for one second. Release the "lock" button and turn the key in the ignition to the "off" position. Repeat this process two more times, each time within five seconds of the last.

3)
Turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position. Within five seconds, press and hold the "lock" button on the remote for one second. The door locks will cycle, indicating that the vehicle has entered remote programming mode. If the door locks do not cycle, then repeat all the steps to enter programming mode before proceeding.

4)
Within five seconds of entering programming mode, press and hold the "lock" button on the remote for one second. Release and wait for the door locks to cycle, indicating that the remote was programmed successfully. Repeat this process for each additional remote that requires programming. A total of three remotes can be programmed, and each remote must be programmed within 10 seconds of the previous one.

5)
Turn the key in the ignition to the "off" position to exit programming mode. Remove the key from the ignition, exit the vehicle and close the driver door. Test each remote by cycling the door locks of the vehicle.

How do i remove the side panels of my 2010 honda pilot? I'm replacing the aftermarket speakers. I noticed that the side panels are divided in two parts. Do I just remove the lower half or do I remove everything? Thanks.

Smile Front Seats

I just purchased a 2013 Pilot LX and the front seats are worthless (if I'd driven the car further before buying it, I never would have bought this car). Can these seats be repaced with the seats from the EX-L (i.e. is electrical hook up the same (except for the seat heaters) and does the computer need to be reprogrammed (I was told by a dealer it does, but I think this is BS). Does anyone have any recommendations for other replacement seats? Thanks all.

Seats have no cushioning and the way they are designed, cuts off circulation in my legs no matter how they are adjusted. I would like to use the power seats from and EX-L and have them rebuilt with better cushioning.

Default Tpms and Scan Tool

I just replaced 4 Tires on my 2008 Pilot and the TPMS has come on and does not go off. How can I figure out which Tire -if any- has developed a fault and can I replace the TPMS sensor myself? Thanks in advance.

While we are at it, can anyone recommend a good-reasonably priced- OBD 2 scan tool that will work for Honda cars including reading ABS codes?

Default 2013 engine oil dipstick

Have a 2013 Pilot. Previously had a 2004 and 2008. Anyway, when putting the engine oil dipstick back in place after checking the level, I hear and feel a metallic knock when its about half inch from seating. To me, it feels like the end of the dipstick is hitting the oil pan. Has anyone noticed this on their new Pilot?

Does anyone know where to get a copy of the original window sticker and possibly the factory build sheets?

How do I find what version of the mapping file is installed in the factory NAV? I crawled through the menu tree as best I could and never saw anything like "Ver 4.xx" or whatever passes for a version string in this system. I did see where I could turn off voice tutorial, at least.

Refer to the 2013 Navi OM, Information Features, about page 86, it will show you how to get to that screen.
