Welcome johndorrf..
Banningjr has just about said it all. Be sure to use the search engine here if you have a particular question or concern. You'll find just about anything you need to know here. Lots of Pilot owner's still here from the very beginning of it's sale last year.
Of course, better yet... just ask!
I'll add... make sure you're aware of the many accessory options available. Suggest going to honda.com and checking them out if you haven't already. My dealer wasn't aware of most of them (didn't even have the catalog) but I came armed with Honda-Pilot.org info and was able to get exactly what I wanted & needed. Ok - wanted.
Good luck and HAVE FUN!

www.hondacars.com lets you "build" your pilot - color and accessories - and provides the MSRP.

I've seen pictures of a black Pilot with the stainless side steps and also a silver Pilot with the Honda (black) side steps. But what I'd REALLY like to see is a silver Pilot with polished stainless side steps.

Does anyone know where I might find such a picture?? Thanks much.
Did you ever find that picture of a SS Pilot with stainless side steps?

Angry 4X4

Who disagrees with me that the VTM-4 4X4 on the Pilot sucks balls. It disengages at 18MPH...what kind of crap is that. They should have made it a full-time 4X4. The stereo also sucks. Does anyone know how to change the speakers on it? Other than that, the Pilot kicks ass.

Sucks? I don't know about that, I like the idea that you can engage it if you get stuck. Otherwise, when would you need it? It automatically engages when you are offroading or on a slippery surface. Works way better then I thought in the snow!!! I give it a thumbs up.

The Stereo sounds great, but I do agree it needs more power. The volume at full is really not that loud for a seven speaker system. To get better reception, Honda should have put the antenna on the outside, but hey, not everything is perfect.

Whew! That borders on bitter!

If you really think about it if you are above that 18mph threshhold 4x4 starts to mean something a little different. Even your lare SUV's don't gain that much as you hit higher speeds. Could they have made it 30mph? Probably but I'm not sure the advantage is there. In all reality for this thing o be a better 4x4 they need to add a low range gear to start followed by tucking some of the undercarriage components better. Some skid plates might be nice as well.

As for the stereo for the average family I think this unit is one of the best they've owned. (Since college and high school anyway.) It does the trick. For those wanting more unless a tweaked Bose system is installed in these I don't think you will ever be happy with any stock radio/ speaker setup. If you check on the site here you will find others have changed their speakers and I think someone may have even done a head unit to get the DVD screen up front. Don't quote me on the second one.

Happy Piloting!

1) It does not, only the VTM Lock feature is disabled over 18MPH.

2) Why, full time would give you little more traction at less MPG.

3) Stereo is fine for a factory unit. If you want aftermarket sound, put in aftermarket $$. I like the fact I did not have to pay more so you could enjoy a premium stereo.

Where can I find the pre delivery checklist that should have been used by the dealer to before delivery of my Pilot. I've found a couple things that haven't been done so it makes me think I need to see what else might have been missed.

Thanks

If you do a search here for "delivery checklist" there are a couple of member compiled lists. This is one of 'em...

Default EX vs LX Cloth

Does anyone know if there are any differences in the quality of the interior cloth and seat padding between the LX and EX model?

My RRP EX is due in on Thursday....Can't wait.

Default Locking Steering Wheel??

Is the steering wheel suppose to lock on the Pilot? I noticed on the first night once I got it home, parked it and tried to lock the wheel, it did not lock. I thought maybe it was the design of the Pilot, and left it alone. After one week of ownership, the question has come across my mind again and I thought to ask the informed members of Honda - Pilot.org.

We have an '02 Accord and the steering wheel locks after about a 1/4 turn once the key is removed. If this is a true problem with my Pilot and someone else has (or had) this problem, did you get it fixed and how long did it take? Thanks in advance.
