There's a place to put a tow hook in the middle below the front bumper of the Pilot. This is also use for jacking-up the front of the Pilot.

If your Highlander made it, I would hope that the Pilot could! Just curious, did your Highlander have a point up front to hook a recovery strap?

Yes it's an awesome trip and thanks for the good luck on the Pilot. If you ever looked closely at the front plastic bumper on a Highlander, you may have noticed two little squares on the bumper. These squares are removable and there is a tow hook back by the spare tire that threads into a recess behind the removable square plug. The Highlander is surprisingly good off the road.

There should be a spot on the bumper under each headlight to pop off a plastic plate and screw in a tow hook. The Highlander is delivered with a single tow hook in rear storage compartment with the spare and tools.

Gene, According to this post there is a place to attach. I've never looked myself so I don't know if this is what you need.

Also, to make your posts a little easier to read, use the quote button on the lower right of the post you wish to quote from.

Exactly, what BigDogDad said. I responded to a question, not realizing that it was really a quote. Using that quote button helps distinguish what you're replying to.

Ok, I'll have to look. Thanks for the heads up on the quote. I almost lost myself for a minute. Great site, thanks.

Default Towing a Coleman pop-up

I've got a Coleman pop-up that weighs in a 1,800 pounds and had towed it with a Subaru Legacy.

I just got the Honda factory-installed hitch and noticed it comes with a flat 5-plug. The guy at the Honday place told me that's standard on Honda hitches.

How to I go from that to the 7-plug (6 flat blades in a circle around a single, circular plug in the middle) on my Coleman? Or do I need to take it to the Coleman dealer to get it rewired? (I hope not)

Pine as in Pine Junction???

You should be able to find an adapter at your nearest auto parts, Wally World or the like. If all else fails - try etrailer.com for all types of adapters.

And welcome to HP.org

Cool!! When I lived in southern Colorado (C Springs and later Florissant) we used to ride motorcycles up from WP, to Deckers and on up to Pine Junction quite often. Great ride!!!
