Default Mystery hook on a rope in cargo compartment

So, I've pored over the owners manual and found no answer to what is the purpose of the hook on a rope in the rear cargo compartment. Obviously it hooks to something, possibly to be used to prop it open, but what? Given the range of the hook, at best it would hook onto one of the rear headreats in the third row.

Am I missing something obvious here, or did I answer my own question?

I believe you hook the rope to the 3rd row headrest to keep the rear cargo lid open. then use the hooks inside the lid to hold grocery bags in place.

That's a little annoying that it's only useful if the third row is up...

Now, I wouldn't have asked if I could actually find it in the manual.

Well, it may not be in the manual, but, they do have a picture (sort of) on the Honda web site (see below).

I hook it to the second row headrest with a 18 in. bungee cord. The cord is too long, so I shorten it by doubling it and tying a simple knot. I keep the cord in the cargo compartment. -- The long bungee cord has other uses as a tie down etc.
