What I found interesting about this thread is some report filling up beforethe light goes on.... I mean, why make more trips to the gas station than you need too? I can't remember the last time I saw the inside of a gas station either! Pay at the pump is the best!

Just being prepared in my case. I fill up just once a week when it gets to the half way mark. I run into situations almost weekly where traffic turns into 1.5 hours from my regular 20 minutes... dont want to be on the freeway here in LA with my light on and no access to gas, I see it all the time they are usually the ones causing the traffic jams. I have also been in two situations where we had earthquakes or fires and the power went out and I didnt have access to gas in my area for more than a day. My Dad is a Fire Chief and my brother is a Captn.. just grew up with this idea. I dont commute very far but your right it would be a hassle if I was filling up say 4x a week instead of 2.
