I installed 4 new Infinity REF-6502ix in my 2003 Honda Pilot. The installation was a lot easier then I thought. A bit tricky at times with the wiring, but I would not hesitate to do it again. Crutchfield is terrific BTW.
The sound is much better! But...I am still lacking mid-range. Is there any, easy, solution to this? Would a new stereo change the mid-range, or sound of these speakers? And, if it is the head unit that is needed, is there one that can still work with the steering wheel changer and control the DVD system? TIA

You likely need not only a sub with amp but also a head unit able to properly power those speakers

I was on chat with Crutchfield and the guy recommended an amp---> Alpine MRP-F300 V-Power Series 4-channel car amplifier — 50 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com Would a new head unit work with my steering wheel controls? And would it add power to the speakers like an amp would? Or at least enough power to make these speakers sound the way they should?

replacing the head unit will lose control and operation of the rear entertainment dvd system. I did that and knew about it. Steering wheel controls can be kept by adding a harness to the new radio and splicing into the wiring harness. Yes definitely a new head unit will better utilize your new speakers but if you don't want to lose the rear dvd unit then try adding an amp.

Thanks p_r That is what I found out as well from Crutchfield. I do not care about the DVD player, but I am afraid that the car will loos value when I sell it :/ Otherwise I would just kill the DVD and ad the head and steering wheel controller.
