Hi all,
I would like to replace all the speakers in my pilot hoping to get better sound out of the factory headunit. I have ordered a pair of Infinity Reference 6032 cf and I am going to try to install them in the front door first and see if it fit (because according the Crutchfield the 6032 cf only fits the rear door, 6032 si fits the front). I also want to replace the factory subwoofer in the back. I have read here that it is a 10 inch subwoofer but can anyone tell me what is the maximium depth of the subwoofer if I simply want to put the new one back into the factory location rather then having an external subwoofer enclosure? Also, what should be the ohm specification for the subwoofer? Thank you in advance for any reply. Sam |

Howdy Pilot guy
You could start by reading up on these two links ![]() Groundpound4200's 2007 Pilot 10,000 watt stereo build Start of a System ( with Pics ) These two links should at the very minimum get you started in the right direction.

Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you for the reply! I did come across the first link but it gave me the impression that he was installing a monster system with all possible components enough for a concert hall. So I didn't read through the whole thread. The second link is a better read for me .I found out from further research that there is only about 4 inches of space for the subwoofer location. Hence I will look for a shallow mount 10" subwoofer 4 ohm. I know it is probably a good idea to get an amplifier to power the subwoofer. But I don't want to go down the route of getting an amplifier yet if simply replacing all speakers and the subwoofer will get rid of the lousy bass. I am not looking for loud bass, but simply just want to get rid of the 'boom' and 'loose' bass. As of right now I never turn up more than 1/3 of the volume anyway. The second link you provide gives me another subwoofer option. Thank you! Sam |
