Default 06 radio in an 05?

I tried searching but couldn't come up with a clear answer. Anyone try installing a 06 radio into 05? Similair plugs or completely different? Simple wiring mod for plugs.. Etc? I'm sure it can be done.. Let me know!

I am looking to stick this into my 05 Pilot EX

Brand New Honda Pilot EX 4WD XM AUX Radio 6 Disc CD Changer 39100-S9V-A500 2006-2008 - Original Car Audio

I want a aux port for my iphone but I believe you need to run a wire off the back.

This post covers it,

I looked.. Its not the same plugs from what i can remember. I would recommend getting one of those aux adaptors. -100$

If not, youll need the 06-08 radio, female plugs to plug into the radio, then wiring diagrams from the 05 and 06 generation and splice into your car harness. Can be done but not sure if its worth the work!

If you are looking to get an iPod/iPhone connected to an 03-05 radio, there are plenty of adapters ( blitzsafe/usaspec/ www.logjamelectronics.com) out there and threads on the installation on this forum.

The the front contour of the 06, color of the 06 and lighting of the 06 are all different to the 05.

Plugs are different as 06 has internal cd changer not external as on 05. Also it had an external connector for XM.
Good luck.
