Hello everyone.
I'm soon to be a new Pilot owner, new to our family anyhow. I just bought a minty 2006 EX-L w/NAV today, super clean. We've been Honda owners since 1985, but never a Pilot. My only dissapointment with this acquisition is the abscence of any kind of AUX input. Years ago I would have been thrilled with the 6 CD changer, but now I know we won't use it at all. I searched the forum a few times and come up with some possible solutions to overcome this problem but nothing that seems spot on. Most of the threads I found were a bit old. What I'm trying to do: - ideally: a USB in that would allow both charging and audio (I use an android phone right now). - really ideal: the same but with steering wheel control (I know, I'm dreaming) - minimally: simply add a straight mini stereo input Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers! |

The least invasive solution is a FM modulator. The sound quality is not tghe best but it is the easiest and least expensive way to go. Next you can find a iPod integration (Honda or aftermarket) kit that would need some experience with connecting car audio. Many modulators utilize the CD changer input that is already built-in to your factory stereo.
Hope that helps.

No, no tape deck. I definitely want to hardwire this in. I'm not scared of tearing the dash apart, but I'd like to know the best solution. |

Axxess Interface - Vehicle Guide
1. select your year/make/model 2. select the type of input you want (Ipod/Zune/Aux/etc...) 3. click on the models that pop up, most likely you will need to piece together a system based on the solutions that are provided. Their website kinda sucks at telling you what you need, I'd suggest DL'ing the install manual, it should give you clues as to which pieces are required. You should be able to use the following items from them: I *THINK* that the XIA-LCD is optional, but you may want to double check. Axxess XIA-I01 IMPORT VEHICLE AUXILLARY INPUT DEVICE - IPOD, VIDEO, MP3 Axxess XIA-LCD LCD Repeater Display for iPod Interface Axxess XIAH-HD3 ACURA/HONDA SPECIFIC HARNESS FOR XIA-I01 Axxess XIAH-IPC IPOD CABLE FOR XIA-D01/XIA-I01/XIA-EU1 Axxess XIAH-RCA AUXILLARY INPUT CABLE FOR XIA-D01/XIA-I01/XIA-EU1 |
