Default DVD Player issues in our 05 pilot and input question

We have an 05 pilot with the stock radio 6 cd changer and rear dvd system, the dvd system works but skips quite a bit, it used to even play home made dvd-rs but now those just error out vs even playing, yesterday I bought a brand new dvd for the kids didnt even touch the surface yet it just skips and skips....

I am thinking of buying one of those cd lens cleaner discs you insert and it supposedly brushes the lens, anyone try this? My car is still under warranty 8 yr 120K honda plan, but seems everything i take it infor they say thats not covered, (recently rear wiper wont touch window, passenger door window switch is IFFY at times etc told both of these are wear items and not covered).

So I figure the dvd system and such will also be a "wear" item or whatever they call it, so was hoping for some input here if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it. all cds top load and 6 changer still play great btw.

Had a quick question too on an audio input, we have ipods and iphones, i have tried a few FM wireless units they didnt work well static etc, i wondered does anyone know of a device i could get added to the honda to have an input jack so i could run a cable from my headphones into the honda stereo system? I know there is a tape player device with a jack on it i might try that but was wondering if anyone just made a nice aftermarket aux input type thing i could get wired in or something for that use?

Use those adapters or the RCA inputs on the console. As for skipping, I suspect the player is toast.

According to my Hondacare paperwork, the factory rear entertainment system is explicitly covered. Bring it in and if they give you grief, escalate to corporate. Failed window switches are covered as well (I'm 99+% sure) so it sounds to me like your dealership is acting the maggot. Let us know how you get on.

For what it's worth, I'd be _very_ wary of lens cleaning disks, I've seen 'em destroy the lenses in a number of modern optical drives. Probably won't matter to you since they're just going to swap the module out, but still...

We have moved since then and I think i need to start using a different dealership for distance and for annoyance, everything I took it in for was always somehow wear related, rear wiper arm woudn't touch the window had it in twice on other visits for reg maint, and both times they charged me for a new blade but within a week it was barely touching again, took in again saying look new blade still no workie (hehe) and they said wellllll that's just something that happens with time and wear you can bend the arm a bit to help it...

So as of today it still sits that way, lots of other talks like that, most me being charged for it or passing on fixing it, we have window tint and the guy told me the extra wear of the window tint is what might have caused the window to be acting up again on me, saying we can look into it but that tint will make it at our cost and that only some of the parts were warranty and others like the diagnosis would be extra....

So the window still acts up now and then never got it fixed either..

Hoping maybe to take it into another dealer and see if they offer any better service, anyone in metro detroit have a dealer they recommend lmk i am all ears...
