Default Chinese 2din stereo (opinion wanted)

Hi folks
I have a 2008 pilot ex-l no res or navi. I want to upgrade the stereo to something with bluetooth and navi. I fell in love with the kenwoods and pioneers but they want like $1,200 just for the H.U That being said i looked around on flea-bay for a 2din unit I have found several and this one seems to be one of the better ones. TD717G 7" Double Din HD Screen Car DVD Player GPS SD TV | eBay

I was wondering if anybody has purchased the same or similar unit(s) I know this unit supports SWC but i will need an interface like a pac unit is this the easiest to install or are there better?
Also I want to keep the factory wire harness in tact, can folks here reccomend a wireing kit adaptors that i will need. thanks in advance

I would ask how you get map updates for it. Depending on where you are in the US, you may need to update them more frequently than in other areas.

They certainly market it well. Makes me want to consider one for myself...

Most of these things are junk. Try calling tech support in China if you have problem.

i understand the potential perrils of buying chinese knock-off equipment. I have had pretty decent emails with the seller and they have good feedback, that being said $1,200 for a kenwood H.U and thats not counting the SWC and install kit(s). I just want a good basic stereo to listen to am and fm, and have gps i am long past the age where i want my windows to rattle at a stop-light. No way could i justify 1,200 or even 999.00 for a kenwood if the chinese stereo craps out in 3-4 years i am still ahead of the game. That being said the unit comes with the 2010 (latest version) of sygic software, and to update it I assume you have to purchase it from sygic.

I do have a ? that i need help with as far as the pin-out/ location of the SWC control wires on the 2008 pilot. I assume they are in the harness at the rear of the radio BUT i can find no info on colors polarity pin location ect. If somebody can post a link /pic that would be great. What is the groups feeling on metra install kits and wireing harnesses? I was also looking at this SWC from metra Metra Online any opinions /tips welcome

Most of what you need for the HU wiring should be here.

I can't wait to hear all about it. What parts you used to install and how it looks in the dash. I take it you will lose the stock subwoofer though!

Pins 3(remote ctl) & 11(remote gnd) on connector A. I used a hot glue gun to mount the trim on my unit to the honda console trim.

Default updates?

I'm interested in replacing the head unit in my wife's 2008 EX-L no nav/no res and was wondering how this job turned out?

Pics? Did the SWC work?
