Default Anyone ever use an universal remote as a replacement for the factory DVD remote?

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever successfully programmed an universal remote to work with the factory RES DVD player.

I bought a used 2003 EXL-RES that was missing the remote. I know the dealer sells them for highway robbery, and you can buy them from other places online for around $35, but really, $35 for a remote? Seems a little expensive to me.
I mean you can buy a used harmony remote on ebay for $20 shipped that will definitely work it for less than a factory one.

I have several Comcast Universal remotes, I have got them to work pretty much everything including my game systems. Anyone happen to know of anyone who has done this successfully for the rear DVD system?

I mean I guess I can get back there and just do a code search and see if anything happens, but it'd be convenient if someone already found a code that works.
