Okay guys so I'm picking up a 2011 Touring 4WD in Polished Metal Metallic with Black Leather Friday and I want HD Radio.
I hate how the Honda system doesn't work with my Zune HD like Microsoft SYNC but nothing I can do about that. I'll just have to control my Zune manually like in the '04 Pilot. Honda really needs Microsoft SYNC though, I'd be ENTIRELY happy with the Pilot's electronics system if it had all of Ford's features! I need to add HD Radio to the new Pilot. I want hardware that replaces the Sirius/XM system and has artist/song track info. Doesn't matter if it shows text for the radio station info (they just show useless website info and crap like that and I just need to # anyway lol). I'd probably get it installed so it hides away in the glove box or something like that. The only options I found from searching were vague mentions of devices from iSimple and DICE. I can't find anything from DICE but iSimple looks like it might work? Anyone have advice? P.S. I'm probably gonna get a few responses saying I should get an iPod. I don't want one. I used to have them before switching to Zune HD. I hate the iTunes software and I get all my music using Zune Pass now (DRM $15/month unlimited downloads) so it is not possible to switch to another device even if I wanted to. I use the Zune HD for HD Radio when I'm not in the car but in the car there isn't any reception and it would be hazardous to attempt to change the station while driving anyway. Unrelated to the HD Radio upgrade, I'm going to add Viper Smart Start instead of getting the OEM remote starter. |

Take a look at this post about a Ford Sync issue. Not sure if it's true/accurate, but if so it's interesting:
Reddit, the dealership told me that pirated music (played via iPhone and auxiliary cord) had corrupted my car stereo system. How is this possible? : technology Can't speak to the Nav systems in the 2009-11 models, but the 2003-08 run on Windows CE. Other than Ford Sync, which is a Microsoft product, are there any other OEM systems that control the Zune? I doubt it, as it has such a small market share and may not be worth the effort.

Looks like planning for the funeral of the Zune is well advanced.
Microsoft reportedly kills off Zune hardware, will focus on software instead -- Engadget
