Default I-VES Base units going on ebay for 200 obo

I just wanted to let you guys know about the awesome deal (i hope) I got on an I-ves unit for my '06.

Ebay auction number 280582397879, they are selling them for $200 or "make an offer." I offered much less and they accepted. I got it today and its all genuine Honda stuff.

But to be clear this is not all you need to start watching movies. You need the proper wiring installation kit and the brackets for the dvd player. That will run you about 250 for that other stuff, but keep in mind this system retails for something like $1600.00.

You should have checked this one. This is the entire kit, inluding wiring.
item # 390264053184
All you would need is the head unit that has the rear control option (about 150$US used..)

I emailed this guy with a bunch of questions, but he says it won't work with a sunroof model? Hmm!

Wow Jeezy thanks for the heads up! That one is a much better deal. In fact I just bought one since I am having trouble sourcing the necessary attachment kit (honda P/N 08B23-S9V-100B) They are on backorder with Honda and may be discontinued.

So this won't work unless you have one of these?:

I have this one:

What I'd really like to use it with is the Kenwood DVD/NAV that I have installed now. Possible?

Correct, the ebay item # 320438880657 is the proper head unit to control the ceiling mounted display and dvd player.. now.. I'm far from an expert, I haven't done this myself.. I don't even know if the harness of the original headunit (the one you have in the image sheet) plugs into that Ebay head unit, and if that "kit" has the all the necessary harnesses, etc.

I just know it's a huge job, removing the headliner and cutting out the holes, etc.. but.. I'm sure it can be done =)

I've done much harder on my previous cars..=)

I've heard that it might be hard getting the proper bezel/face plate to install the dvd player.. but again, I don't know anyone's who's tried this install. If I had an extra 200$ or so, I'd do it =)

Then again, 400$, you can get a dvd/nav aftermarket head unit.. ipod hookup, etc.. so I'm at a standstill until the wife gives a thumbs up !

You can get the I-VES DVD player to fit your Pilot. It just requires a different trim piece, seat heater switch holder and accessory plug (plus all of the necessary screws and clips). You'd spend roughly $100 to make it work. You're basically changing that section of the dash to match a 2004 EX-L RES. IMO - go aftermarket (better features, easy integration with factory or aftermarket head unit).

I just finished installing 9" headrest monitors, a 7" front monitor, a seagate freeagent theater plus and 750 gb hard drive with 500 films and 300 albums films on it for $400 and 4 hours install work.
2x 9" headrest monitors $185
7" monitor $58
Seagate theater plus $40
seagate 750 GB portable drive $80
Misc cables monoprice $24
(I already had a $40 PIE tie in to my 04 LX stereo.)

500 films and 300 albums -- no annoying DVD or CD disks!
