Default Front and rear windshield washer wiring switched somehow

As the title states, our 2004 Pilot, which we bought used, has some SNAFU wiring problem. When I pull the right stalk, I expect the front windshield washers to come on, but instead, the rear washer comes on while the front wipers start to wipe. And when I twist the end of the right stalk, the front washers spray while the rear wiper starts to wipe. So they're reversed some how.

It's been this way ever since we bought the Pilot 3 yrs ago, and it's always bugged me.

I'd imagine this should be an easy fix if I can just switch the wires of the washers, so when I pull on the stalk, the front washers activate along with the front wipers, and when I twist the tip of the stalk, the rear washer activates along with the rear wipers, but question is, where do I look for this?

The two pumps are right next to each other.

I bet they were disconnected for some service work and plugged back in wrong.

Should be an easy fix.

That is totally not funny, seriously not laughing over here, ok sorry, I'm busting up... this just gives me a wonderful idea for a joke to pull on a buddy of mine.

However N Jay is pretty dead on, before you go ripping out the dash to get the stalk rewired, check the pumps and try swapping the wires there.

I have trouble believing it took you three years to think to fix this.

Also, it can't be at the stalk, as there is only one connector (nothing to reverse) plus the unlikelihood that the stalk has ever been removed, relative to the likelihood of work near or on the washer tank.

Someone else recently posted with the same problem after a collision.

Sounds like the PO had an accident.

I didn't even think to tackle this from the opposite end. Also had no idea the pumps would be next to each other. This DOES make it seems like quick fix.

I checked the engine bay and traced the front washer hose which I'm sure has to be connected to the pump, right? So, it goes down to the left side of the engine bay next to the windshield washer fluid container and down further past it.

I'm guessing I'll have to pull the front bumper off to get to the pumps? Are they somewhere below the washer fluid container?

I know!!! All I have are excuses. First, living in SoCal for the past 2 yrs where it hardly ever rained, we never really needed to use the windshield washers. Add a newborn, relocation to NorCal, house work, crazy work schedule and doing maintainenance on my vw, it kept getting pushed to the back burner.

But with winter here in NorCal and a recent trip to the mountains to play in the snow, I had to use the windshield washers a LOT and this REALLY bugged the $h1t out of me and now it's top on my list. Next will be flushing the VTM fluid in the rear diff as well as a ATF flush.

The carfax on our pilot was clear, but I guess it's possible it could have been involved in a small front-ender that wasn't reported

Ok, so I pulled off the passenger side wheel well liner, saw both pumps, swapped the connectors and tested. IT WORKED!!! The front washers wash while the front wipers wipe, and the same goes for the rear.

I can't believe it took me this long to "fix" this. I should have posted here a LONG time ago. Oh well......

Thanks for your help guys!!!!
