2011 EX-L NAV freezes up occassionally

I have had my Pilot for a few months now and the NAV has frozen up on my twice, while on vacation. It happened once while doing a search for a restaurant or something, another time while using the knob to scroll ahead. First time I had to shut the car off to get it to reset, the other time I was able to back out with the Cancel button. But it was repeatable in both instances.

Is this common/typical and if not, do you think that it is the disc or the software?
