Default A better single DIN dash kit than Metra for a 2006 EX?

Is the Scoche or BestKits single DIN dash kit stronger and more rigid than the Metra?

I have the Metra in right now, but my HU is heavy and I'm concerned about longevity of the whole kit and the mounting brackets in particular.

The gratuitous pics of the install:

Use the metal brackets that were attached to the OEM radio.

I tried that as I had read about others using them. They do not work with a single DIN and there is no way to mount the trim. Also, the locating pins on the OE radio were not lining up with the holes in the Pioneer so they were "crushing" the sides as I tightened the screws. The 800/880PRS is discontinued and the current 99PRS is $1400. I don't think I'm willing to risk my HU to force the factory brackets.

I guess I could grind off or drill out the locating pins, but that still doesn't address the lack of trim...

Sorry about that.....I keep forgetting that the single DIN installs are different than the double DINs. I've worked with the Best Kits/American International HONK814 before and it's much better than the Metra and Scosche kits. The mounting bracket is similar to the OEM one and feels more secure IMO.

No problem. My dealer usually has Best Kits but all they had was the Metra in stock and they cut me a deal.

I'll probably order a Best Kits and replace the Metra. Thanks.
