Default 2008 pilot keeping facotry amp & sub

i have purchased a kenwood ddx516 to put in my pilot ('08 without NAV). Someone out there has to know how to retain the facotry amp and sub for this thing but i cant find it anywhere on the net. i did check out a honda element forum that has some info but i dont know if it is the same as the pilot. ANY help would be wonderfull!!

The first gen Pilots do not have a factory amp. The radio powered the sub directly. You'll need an aftermarket amp to get the sub back but if you go that route you might as well replace the sub with something better.

The leads to the factory sub are on a separate 14-pin harness that has 8 leads coming out of it. This is the same harness for the ANC system. Unless you tapped into the wht/grn (+) and blk/wht (-) leads, then the factory sub is not connected to the Kenwood. If it is I wouldn't run it this way for too long since the sub is rated at 2-ohms. What you're probably hearing is the big improvement the DDX516 makes over the factory radio.
