Hey guys, I have a 04 EXL RES. I am wanting to split the RCA connections from the back and put them in the middle arm rest. I know that they will not both be able to work simultaneously, but that's okay. I'm mainly interested so I can keep my iPod in the armrest and not have wires all over the place.
This post Write up: Video to Navigation 2010 Pilot Touring /RES and the one after it describe exactly what I want to do -- but with the video only. I need to know what the pinout is for this plug http://www.piloteers.org/forums/atta...2.24.24-pm.png Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! -eSlon |

After a little more digging, I found a pinout (Attached image).
However, there are three different types of wires for the L/R audio: - R CH (and L CH) - R/L SH - R/L GND Instead of adding RCA plugs, I'm just going to put a 1/8" audio jack in the armrest instead since I'll only be using for iPod audio. So am I only interested in the 'R/L GND' and the 'R CH' and 'L CH' wires? What is the Shielded wire for? -eSlon |

I finished the 1/8" stereo aux input tonight. I used the pinout from my previous post and tied in to the R CH (and L CH) and the R/L GND wires. I was a little nervous because the wire colors from the diagram didn't match up with what my Pilot had (about 50% did, though). For me, I used the orange, blue, and blue/orange wires.
It took me about 45 minutes to do, including cleanup. Sound quality is good, and I still have functionality of my rear RCA inputs (just not at the same time as the iPod). I got a pack of two 1/8" jacks from RadioShack for under $3. Cheap, easy mod - and now I don't have wires all over the place. -eSlon |
