Using the information from this site, I recently installed the USA Spec Model PA15-HON2 in our 2007 Non-Nav, Non-Res EX Pilot, placing the USA Spec interface and the ipod in the glove compartment. Aux button, no XM (XM ready).
Fairly easy install, but I wanted to comment briefly on some of the difficulties I had and some of the items it took me some time to find (thanks to everyone who posted audio install threads). First, the primary difficulty (as everyone says) is removing the bezel surrounding the radio. I found these installation instructions invaluable: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ins.../cdchanger.pdf This link was posted originally posted in this thread, which I also thought was very helpful (thanks to the original posters): iSimple PXAMG on 2008 Pilot, no Nav, no RES As discussed by others, the small metal clips holding the bezel easily pop off, especially because of the force one has to use to dislodge the bezel. I lost two out of the four into the dash, and another one broke. Fortunately, we have a Honda dealer close to us, the clips were in stock, and cost about $.90 each. Second, once the radio is out, the PA15-HON2 CAS-H2Y cable has two connectors, one male and one female. The instructions focus on the male plug. The back of my radio had an empty male socket, so I used the female plug instead, and it works fine. The controls fully work (on the main unit and the steering wheel). Third, I totally whiffed on my initial re-installation of the plastic pieces with the two buttons on the left side of the bezel (Hazard & VTM-4). These need to be reseated well before the bezel is replaced. For whatever reason I had to play around with these buttons over and over again to get them seated properly. Fourth, on the re-install of the meter panel, I had some difficulty reseating this piece properly. There are two black rubber pieces on two plastic prongs at the bottom of the plastic (transparent) face of the speedometer. These black rubber pieces fall off easily, so I had only one shot to place the meter panel on properly or these pieces would fall off and I'd have to start again. It took me approximately 4 times until it snapped into place properly. Sorry I didn't take picts of them. Again, thanks to everyone. This forum is a great resource for information. |
