wrong.

The car backup camera was mounted inside the motorhome instead of on the license plate frame as designed for several reasons.
1. It's wireless and mounting inside puts it closer to the monitor already near distance limits.
2. The last camera I had from VR3 got moisture in it so I don't trust their weatherizing.
3. Since I'm using it as a rear view mirror rather than a back up camera I prefer
the higher vantage point of the top of the rear window.
This mount presented a problem. This is an IR camera with 6 IR LED's for illumination and a light sensitive switch to turn them on when dark. In this mount
configuration the LED's were always on causing the camera to overheat which made
the picture fuzzy so I installed a white LED above the light sensor to keep the IR LED's turned off. So far so good. The LED's also reflected on the window causing bright halo's in the monitor.

Way too many distractions in vehicles nowadays. I just threw my radio out the window.

The link for the MDX thread is a bust. That is for the 2009 and prior model. So it probably wont help anyone with a 09 or up Pilot. He also stopped making the kits.

At the risk of being flamed....... isn't the back up camera on the 2010 Pilot using the Rear view mirror (or a portion of it) as the LCD screen - and not the Navigation screen?

If this is true - the OP would not be looking down at a NAV screen in the dash to see the oncoming traffic behind him.

I have an old decrepit 07, without NAV or back up camera - but my friends have a new Pilot and their back up camera scenery is sent to the rearview mirror......

When you have kids running and cycling about the neighborhood, remember to take extra precaution when backing up your car onto the street. After all, tiny tots and toddlers aren't exactly the tallest creatures in the world, and they certainly won't be seen in your rear view camera while you're reversing.

Rear View Backup Camera aims to remedy that, using AirCam technology and digital processing to deliver accurate and natural looking
images of what's directly behind, doing away with the need for fish-eye mirrors fixed at the rear of your vehicle.
