Hi, just got an 07 Certified Pilot EX-L today with no nav. Smooth, roomy car with some nice features!
Anyway, my sister-in-law's husband has the same car, but with nav, which he had swapped out for an aftermarket unit, and offered us his old OEM one. Looking at pictures I noticed there are some differences between the nav/non-nav below the climate control, particularly the seat warmer buttons. Has anybody swapped in an OEM nav on a non-nav Pilot? Do they have a dash kit or something? Anybody have any idea how much it would cost to have a shop do this? Thanks! |

He's going to have to give you wiring harnesses, gps aerials etc. Not worth the trouble when Garmins are $200 a pop.
He'd do better selling it on Ebay

He's not concerned with money, and I'd rather have an in-dash unit with the backup camera. He gave us the LCD, head unit, and camera at least. Not sure if anything else; the stuff is sitting in a box at my wife's parents' house. I'd be willing to spend about $300 - $400 for the install. Can it be done?

Do you have the NAV drive that mounts underneath the front passenger's seat?

I know when folks did a Nav swap in a TSX, the guy had to run a few wires custom and have as much of the wiring harnesses as possible, which usually means tearing apart the donor car to get or buying from a junk yard (good luck). You cannot assume the OEM wiring harnesses are going to be there... because they won't be. This doesn't mean it can't be done. Having torn apart my TSX before and torn apart a section of the wife's 09 Touring, I'm personally not into doing that stuff anymore. Being warm out is a benefit so as not to break plastic clips, but you run that risk without having the right tools, which is another cost. You are looking at a good couple of days work even if you have everything you need.... still doable though.
As a side note, the guy who did a retrofit of a OEM Navi into his TSX spent just over the amount to have had it in there the first place, not counting sweat equity.
