Default Vanity lights and liftgate yet to go

So I broke down and ordered LEDs from dealextreme for our 08 EX-L. The 10 LED festoons fit the map lights well, and the blade type 4 & 6 LEDs worked on the rear lights, door and license plate.

However, I couldn't get the 5740 to fit the vanity mirrors well. The bulb does fit the contacts but is too fat and makes the plastic cover stick out. I also couldn't get any of the festoons I ordered to fit the rear liftgate. All were too long. Anyone had luck finding the correct bulb for either?

Default 5726

Hey CMasten,

I ordered the 5726 bulbs for the map lights and the other 4 passenger lights. I have an 05 Pilot and the 5726 lights are too long for my map lights between the driver and passenger.

Any ideas on another bulb that will fit in the maps lights?

Thanks

Did you resolve the size issue with yout map lights and the 5726?

Does anyone have a definitive answer for a number on the lift gate for an '03-05?

Try this light. It will fit the map light and is very bright. Expensive tough. I use them in my 05-exl.

From what I have gathered for the 03-05 Pilots, all the interior lights are the same.

The part numbers for DealExtreme are as follows:

Map-5726
Passengers- 5726
Door- 5178
Lift Gate- 5740
Mirror- 5740

The bulb in the lift gate is slightly shorter and wider than what is in the mirrors however the mirror can easily accomodate the larger bulb just make sure it is an LED bulb as the regular type bulb will get too hot if swapped into that position.

Default How about the 07?

Is this correct?

Map & Passenger =5726 x2
Doors = 5178 x2
2nd row =5726 x2
3rd row =5726 x2

What about the following?

Lift gate =?
License plate =?
Passenger vanity mirror=?

I just measurered the length of the stock front seat map lamps on my 2008 EX-L and its 30.5 mm where as the 5726 from deal extreme shows 44.52 mm in length. Do the lamps from dealextreme have to be forced to fit or do you need to modify the attachment clamps in any way?
Thanks
Ej

They are reasonably priced at various hardware stores, and I am amazed at the quality of these units. Well worth having in various places of your house for those critical moments.

I can second this referral. I picked half a dozen of these up last Spring and they served us well including our little hurricane Ike visit. Love the auto feature combined with the fact that it's a flashlight whenever needed. ANd

Ok, so I finally got my leds. I ordered them on 12/23 and received them yesterday.

This is what I used on my 07

Map & Passenger =5726 x2
Doors = 5178 x2
2nd row =5178 x2
3rd row =5178 x2

Anyone know the numbers for the
lift gate, vanity mirror and license plate?

Also, how do you remove the cover for the license plate? I tried pushing them to the side but they wont budge.

I replaced my license plate lights and most of my interior lights with LEDs last fall. Thought I'd share the results here.

For the license plate lights and all of the interior lights except for the back hatch, I used these bulbs that were recommended to me on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-...d=p3911.c0.m14

The back hatch used a pair of festoons that I purchased from another online store mentioned earlier in this thread.

Overall, I am very pleased with the results. Each bulb has 12 LEDs, so the interior is lit much brighter now than with the stock incandescent bulbs. It's a little brighter than I expected, and it might be too bright for some people. If you are concerned about brightness, then I recommend choosing a bulb with fewer LEDs. I really like the look of license plate LEDs -- they turned out very nicely.

I've attached some pictures below.

I know this thread is dated, but i lost my first interior light (vanity) in my '05. Regular bulbs have been a bugger to find, so i think i'll go LED. Any updated info i should know? There seems to be contradictory info if i read Cmasten, gh0strider, dakine & chuzie, i believe i need:

4 ea 5726 for the 4 grab handle lights
4 ea 5178 for 4 door/foot well lights
6 ea 5740 for both vanities (2 for ea) and lift gate (2)
now here is the question 2 more ea 5726 for the map lights or is there one that fits better per gh0strider's comments?

I also have a map light issue that seems weird, when i open the doors or toggle the dash switch to "ON", the driver map light doesn't come on, but when i push it itself as a map light, it works?
