Default Extract oil thru dip stick tube

Is anyone else using an oil siphon pump to remove old oil through the dipstick tube? It's much easier - no need to get under car and remove plug - appears to remove all of it - have used this recommended method on BMW's and Benzes for years.

That's like buying a new pair of shoes and tieing the string in a knot and making them slip on's

What do do do about the oil filter? If you don't change it every time you are leaving dirty oil in the engine and if you do change the oil filter I don't find it much more trouble to pull the drain plug.
