Thank you so much Hondaman2 for the step by step directions. It took me about 45 minutes to do the job. The screw on the outside that holds the glove box is a pain to put back in since there was wires there and hard to get the ratchet in straight. I ended up putting the screw in crooked so I had to remove the clip and rethread the screw into the clip a few times before putting it back again and it went in straight. I got a Purolator filter for $22 but it does not look anywhere near the quality of the Honda one. Next time I will definitely buy the Honda brand. I plan to change every 15k anyways.

Has anyone tried the Bosch filters that they are selling on eBay. Bosch make pretty high quality products, but I have never used their air filters.

The Bosch a/c filter is very good. That's the brand I'm using currently.

Default replaced the cabin filter

Installed a new cabin filter today. Everything went smoothly. Took the glove box out completely. The screw on the right side was problematic but not too bad. Both left and right screws required a twisting maneuver to see and remove. Sawed through the plastic piece quickly with my Makita Recipro Saw (don't cut any wires

Filter was pretty dirty as most people are saying.

25 minute job with tools in hand.

I'm about ready to tackle this myself, but I want to make sure I use a quality filter that gives me the most bang for my buck. I checked both Napa and Checker, and the cheapest filters I could find were Beck Arnley between $16-20 (Fram and Purolator were both around $40). Never heard of Beck Arnley. Anybody know if they're any good? I hate the thought of getting a true Honda filter from the dealer and paying $40-50 or more. Any thoughts on this, or is my best bet the Bosch filters on eBay?

aaronax70 - The Bosch A/C filter is good and you can buy it on ebay. If you want the OEM cabin filter, you can order it from our sponsor(hondacuraworld.com) for $28.42. The part # is 80290-S0X-A01H.

Thanks Honda-Pilot.org, you guys saved me time and a little money! I was having my wife's Pilot 30,000 miles service done at the local dealer. The service writer asked about replacing the cabin filter, I asked how much they charged to replace them. He mentioned the price and I quickly replied that, on Honda-Pilot.org every one has been replacing the filters in less then 45 minutes start to finish. With the pictures and write-up even I should be able to do it in an hour or so. The service writer then came back with an offer of $58.00 to replace the filters, both filters included. I took him up on his offer the filters where going to cost around $45.00 from the parts department. Thanks again for the great site!!

Thanks to Hondaman and others for the instructions and pictures, it made the job easier to tackle.

I had mine done last night at 37800 miles I know, it should have been done earlier but life happens.

It took about 45min working in a dimly lit garage at night with a flashlight, could've waited until the next morning when there's more light to work with but I was bored and very eager to try after reading the posts.

Bosch microfilter was $29 from Autozone. Thanks again guys.

The brush fire that we had last year in So. Ca. had taken it's toll on our air filter and cabin filter.

I also bought my filter ($22.99) at the local NAPA. While they didnt have it in stock, they got it same day I called. Btw, Wix makes NAPA filters which are of excellent quality.
