Got mine at Cabin Air Filters for Less

Roughly $5.40 each, but their shipping is pricey.

A couple of years ago, I bought some for my Pilot, my Pontiac Vibe, and my neighbor's Chevy Impala. Got a few of each and split the shipping with him.

If I recall, Autozone wanted about $25 for a Bosch or somethin'....

By the time I bougt multiples AND split the $15 in shipping, it made the filters cost about $8 or $9 each.

Their product has worked just fine for the last couple of years Fit and finish are just fine!

Hey, just rememebered that you can change out the cabin filter w/o removing the plastic bar. I did it a couple weeks ago and it is easy. Not saying it is optimal; but can be done. Hard part is ensuring that filter is alinged properly in groove(s). You still have to take out the glovebox stops, but not the other glovebox fasteners. If you need anymore detail, raise a hand and I will add more or you can use search to hip yourself to the process. Cheers!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice from here. I purchased the Bosch model from Amazon for around $15. When I went to actually change it out, I noticed the plastic bar was already removed. The whole process took around 15 minutes, but won't take as long next time.

Thanks again!

Just an FYI:

You can buy the OEM/Honda filter (2004 model 80290-S0X-A01) for just $19.76 @ G1Parts.com. If your order is over $20, you get free shipping too. Just gotta find one more part that cost 24 cents... lol

Too bad these aren't the ones that come from the factory that are impregnated with charcoal.

memo to self. Make sure you push the filter in all the way.
Didn't do that and had a terrible noise when I turned the fan on. Had screwed everything back together of course.
Two mins later had the door off and access to the filter again, pushing it in. The Plastic prong was keeping the door from sealing properly. Hence the noise.
At least I found out about it now rather than 4am tomorrow as the road trip starts.

I'm not sure why the kick panel and sill cover had to be removed. I don't remove them to replace my cabin air filter.

Cabin air filter replacement- Honda Pilot - YouTube
Nice Video ! and Thanks too Hondaman2. made the job very easy.

Little story on my filter. Bought our 2007 Pilot with 44,000 miles on it from a dealer. Certified for 1 year. paper work showed that the filter had been changed. Changed it yesterday and the plastic piece was still in place. Not sure the filter has every been changed. have 60000 on the pilot now.
can you change the filter without removing the plastic piece ? i dont see how you can. Anyhow all is well now. Thanks again for the help. Great site that saved me lots of money.

There was some anecdotal evidence in some other thread sometime ago suggesting that someone had changed their cabin filter without removing that plastic piece, but I still see no way of doing that.
