Excellent. I just snapped my mirror out backing out of my garage catching it on the side of the garage opening. The far "socket" that snaps into the far actuator is broke so I was thinking I only that piece that attaches to the back of the mirror.
However, it looks like there may have been something in the center of the actuator (picture 2) that broke too. Is there something there in the center? It would seem like the only support needed would be where the mirror bracket snapped onto the 4 actuators.

Also thanks for letting us know snapping the mirror on requires a lot of force. I tried to snap it back into the three good sockets and it did't want to go.

OOPS! I did'nt read all the replies before I responded to the excellent pictures. Looks looks like I have to repair the actuator ball too.

Wink

prior to reading this post, I would have thought the repair to be much difficult than it was.

It took me 10 minutes.

The bad part is, I didn't realize that the mirror the dealer sent me was not the heated kind.

I had to order it and will use the other one they gave me until Friday.

Hopefully my son won't back into anymore mailboxes before then so I can receive the credit.

I agree with the previous poster, these pictures are great. Does anyone know where I can buy the plastic bracket? I already bought the mirror/glass from the dealer without realizing I needed the bracket also. My dealer is telling me that I need to purchase the full mirror assembly, but I'm convinced that there has to be someplace I can get the plastic piece.

I had the body shop do some body shop on my Pilot the other day and they washed it "never let the body shop wash you Pilot" and scratched the mirrors, but thanks to labow I know how to replace them..

Great DIY! Love the pics. How did you get the bracket off the mirror? I tried pushing it from all directions without success. Which direction to I apply pressure?

The mirror is okay, but the pivot point that the mirror attaches to broke off, so I believe I have to replace the actuator.

Thanks!

Even though I used the gloves, it still needed to be cleaned, but so did the entire Pilot!!

If this ever happens to you, fix it yourself and save the money, the mirror was only $14 (I think). The dealer wanted well over $100 to fix it and it was only about 30min of labor.
I walked out to my 2005 Pilot and found my left mirror sitting on my windshield wiper. Jumped in the car to take my son to school and he noticed the right mirror was cracked and hanging by the wires.

Bad way to start the day.

I immediately thought of probably needing to spend about $200-$300 to fix it all. I remembered this site. I found your threads and because of them I walked out and popped my left mirror back on. You're RIGHT! I thought I was gonna break the mirror or my wrists. The right mirror I'm about to order and thanks to you will be a snap to fix.

I and my wallet appreciate YOU!
