Hmm, have to get some.

Of course it will go in the lawn mower.

(that should get the Dino vs. Syn guys going)

I'm turning into a tree-hugger. I use a human-powered reel mower. Of course, you can do that when your (town)house sites on .03 of an acre. One big advantage, I can mow any time, night or day, and still hear everything going on around me.

Is that a HONDA lawn mower?

If it was I would probably not consider the synthetic.

The darn B&S on the Craftsman just seems to cook the oil.

Actually, my mower (Snapper) recommends a straight weight - assume most do.

The B&S does too.

I am trying to find out why before making the switch.

Still think Syn might be a big advantage for a no filter engine with very poor temperature regulation.

(I run AmsOil in my 914, because it runs oil temps between 190 and 250 deg.)

For its lawn mowers, 20-years ago, Honda specified 30-weight oil for use over the range from +45F to +90F, 40-weight from +75F to beyond +100F, 10W-30 from 0F to +90F and 10W-40 from 0F to beyond +100F.

More recently, Honda specifies 30-weight oil for use over the range from +50F to beyond +100F and 10W-30 from 0F to beyond +100F. 5W-30 is recommended for all temperatures below +32F.
No mention is made of using 5W-20.
