Smile No Brake Dust

I finally got a chance to hand wash our Pilot today. BTW, it was in the 80's today in the Chicago area.

Compared to other cars I have owned, I am really pleased by the absence of dirty brake dust all over the wheels.

Is typical of all Honda vehicles?

Anybody else have a brake dust problem?

Kudos to Honda on this one.

It has been at least 6 weeks since my last (car wash) wash and 2- 1/2 weeks since the last good rain here.

Perhaps it is all relative. I washed my other car (Ford with 4-wheel disc) today and the wheels were disgusting.

The Pilots' wheels were almost clean by comparison. No black deposits around the edge of the rims.

I was wondering if Honda uses ceramic pads.

The Pilot has the lowest level of brake dust of our 3 cars. I agree, for some reason, there seems to either be lower brake dust generated or lower accumulation of dust on the wheels.

I agree that Honda must have went with ceramic pads on the Pilot. Our Honda Odyssey always had dust on the factory aluminum rims and I hated it. So far, I have appreciated Honda thinking of anal people like me who hate regularly cleaning off brake dust...

Our Pilot has very little brake dust too.

The worst car for brake dust was our '99 Audi A4. The wheels would turn BLACK in a matter of days. I don't miss cleaning those wheels at all!

Our CRV (replaced the Audi) also has very little dust.

We love our Hondas!

Default Low Brake Dust

The Pilot definitely has less brake dust than my Accord, but then again, I've replaced the pads with Axxis Metal Masters for better performance. But the Pilot's brakes seems great so far.
