My Pilot was due for an oil change, and close to the 30k mile mark. I also figured it was close enough to the end of the warranty period that I'd get a few other items taken care of.
So I scheduled it for the oil change and told the dealer that it also needed: interior B-pillar trim replaced (from the dreaded seat-belt dings) exterior driver's door trim re-attached (it was loose and would flap when you closed the door, making a "double slam" noise cd player was skipping when warm Brakes were pulsing, like the rotors were warped. They had the car today and called me, saying (as I expected) that they recommended the 30k service at this point. That included the oil change, air filter change, coolant flush/fill, tanny oil, lubricate locks, hvac filter, diff. service, inspect belts, adjust parking brake, safety check, rotate tires, brake check, lots of inspections. I told them that I'dprefer to do most of that myself, but would they do the tranny fluid and the diff. fluid please. No problem. So here's the nice surprise. I expected most of the original work to be covered under warranty, but not the rotors, since I have almost 30k miles on the vehicle. But they covered them anyway! Turned - not replaced, but still, I was pleased. I had a coupon from Honda for the oil change (for filling out a mail survey). So the only thing I paid for was the tranny and diff service, which came to a grand total of $97. Very reasonable, I thought. The trim pieces and a new cd player are all on order and not yet installed, but they are covering them all under warranty as well. It's nice to have a good service experience! By the way, this was all at Pauly Honda in Libertyville, IL.

I'd suggest you get my pillar protection tape or you will end up getting dings on your new pillar too. If you are interested, send me a PM for payment details. B-Pillar Solution

Bill, kudos to your dealer. They deserve every bit of your praise and you should be pleased. It's always nice when someone goes the extra bit of distance for you and you end up with a pleasant surprise at the end of the day. That dealer's a keeper.
