Default Oil change frequency

How frequently do you do an oil change on your Pilot?
For my Civic and Maxima - I was sticking to around 5K miles
before doing an oil change. I don't buy into the every 3K BS.

Like the book says, 7500 normal, 3750 severe.

Of couse some here are smarter than the manufacturer.

I shoot for 4000 to 5000, so when I forget (like all the time) I usually still make it to the dealer between 5000 and 7000!

Other than a loaded camping trip about once a year, very little of our driving fits the description of severe.

I try and change every 3000, but it ends up being around 3500. The way i see it, an oil change is cheaper then a new engine. I know the oil is better then it used to be, and i'm overdoing it, but i drive only so many miles a year, because of that, it's more like 3500mi/6 months.

The book has both Miles and Months.

If you don't drive much watch the months.
